Heart Change Leads to Behavior Change
In all my years of working in healthcare – helping others with their nutrition and weight loss, their goal setting, goal reaching and goal maintenance – the most challenging aspect of care was Behavioral Change. It’s hard to “mind-over-matter” choose better when the root goes deeper. The root goes all the way to the condition of our heart. I’ve learned the winning combination: heart change leads to behavior change. —If we couple heart-work with health-work, the healthy lifestyle choices are less difficult to achieve and maintain.
Most of our poor health choices are fruit of a wounded, broken heart. Which, a wounded heart results in dis-ease of the body.
behavior change begins in the heart
That was my experience. For years, I suffered from debilitating diseases. I had faith in Jesus and believed His Word, the Bible, to be true. (It was and ever will be!) And yet, I was not thriving in my health. When first introduced to the practical application of “out of the heart flow all the issues of life” concept in Proverbs 4:23, I felt hope! Foe the first time in a long time, I felt true hope! Because how many of you, like me, have done RIGHT and BIBLICAL things like believing the Bible, given of time and resources to God through missions and church endeavors, prayed and been prayed for…yet some of the promises you see in the Bible are not coming to pass in your life?
The practical reality of Proverbs 4:23 sent me back to the drawing board.
“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23
I began learning what breaks the heart of a person. I began learning those factors that tear down health, cause weight problems, cause fatigue and finance issues, cause strained relationships and, honestly, every stressful, ugly thing from the enemy.
And, it all goes back to our hearts.
The heart.
My heart.
Your heart.
Out if it stems everything.
The heart of the matter – the heart – is why I spend house everyday teaching others how to conquer weight problems (over and under) and to learn a new, healthy lifestyle! We were created to prosper and be in health, even as our souls prosper. I’m a unique Health Coach in that I teach Biblical principles as a basis for a healthy lifestyle. It is the most successful model I’ve ever seen.
Do you need to be healthier?
Do you know what is in your heart?
Love,
Jessica
