Little changes can make a big impact, don’t ya think?
My sweet husband has urged me to update our drawer pulls ever since we completely gutted and remodeled our kitchen. That was two years ago. (Oh, and by the way…my deepest sympathy to all of you who’ve endured a home remodel and lived to tell about it. It’s such a mess! Layers and layers of construction dust. Have you ever seen more dust?).
Anyhow, being the super frugal gal that I am I thought, “Nah, we’ve redone everything – floors, counters, cabinets, appliances. Dream kitchen, I’m happy! Why add one more thing to our to-do list?”

Turns out, Robert was right as usual!
Wow! While the heavy duty changes made a heavy duty difference, the tiny upgrade of exchanging dated silver pulls for farmhousey black ones sure made a pop!

Heavy Duty Overhaul
So it goes with Jesus.
At Salvation, our relationship with Jesus begins and the inner remodeling that takes place translates us from death to LIFE!
“Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness,
and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.” Colossian 1:13
At Salvation, our spirit man is completely remodeled. Wall-to-wall overhaul from a lifeless, sinful nature to a nature that is purely, fully alive is given us!
That’s heavy duty, noticeable change!
Tiny Upgrade
Jesus loves us so dearly, though, that He still wants to enrich our lives beyond the “heavy duty remodel” of Salvation! His tiny upgrades occur throughout life as our relationship with Him deepens.
Joy exchanged for grief.
Songs exchanged for silence.
Hope exchanged for “it’s no use.”
Sleep exchanged for insomnia.
Peace exchanged for striving.
Small in comparison to the regenerative remodel of making Him the Lord and Leader of our lives, Jesus’ tiny upgrades enrich us even more, adding beauty and all good things.
You’re Worth the Remodel
When planning for a home renovation, it’s smart to factor the cost. Robert and I asked ourselves, “Is investing X amount of dollars a worthy investment into the value of our home?”
So for you, dear one, the application is this:
“Am I valuable enough for Jesus to actually look at me? Notice me? Want to give me good gifts?”
Oh my goodness, YES!
Jesus thought so highly of YOUR worth that He came for YOU.
You are valued. You are worth the price Jesus paid at Calvary to remodel you into His image and beautiful likeness! You’re even worth the tiny upgrades – those spiritual gifts – that Jesus desires for you to receive from Him daily.
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above,
and cometh down from the Father of lights,
with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” James 1:17
“Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits,
even the God of our salvation. Selah.” Psalm 68:19
Your seemingly insignificant, small thoughts are noted by your very big God. He has little changes He wants to give you that He knows will make a HUGE difference in your life!
That’s love!
“How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them!
Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand,
when I awake, I am still with you.” Psalm 139:17-18
